ADVENT & CHRISTMAS AT REDEEMER
MIDWEEK ADVENT VESPERS
Vespers at 6:30
During the Advent season, we'll meet together on Wednesday evenings for a service of evening prayer as we wait for Christ's arrival. During these long December nights, we'll sing the praises of Christ's light in the world as we anticipate the celebration of his Nativity and his return in glory at the end of time. Join us at 6:30 for Vespers in the sanctuary on December 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd .
December 24th at 5pm
On December 24th, we will gather in the dark of night to celebrate the Nativity of Christ, the moment when God the Son became truly human and entered our world. This year, we'll host two identical services on Christmas Eve, both with candlelight and the celebration of Holy Communion. The early service, at 4pm, is ideal for families with young children or those who prefer to not drive after sunset. The late service joins in the centuries-old tradition of the Midnight Mass.
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES
FESTIVAL of LESSONS & CAROLS
December 26th at 10:30am
Christmas doesn't end on December 25th; it lasts twelve full days until Epiphany on January 6th. On December 26th, the first Sunday of Christmas, we'll gather at our usual time for a service of Lessons and Carols with Holy Communion as we read through the Christmas story and sing some well-loved carols. The tradition of Lessons and Carols dates back to 19th century England and has become a valued tradition in many parts of the Church.
